PrimeFlow Export
Export a PrimeFlow canvas as PNG, WebP, or JPEG with quality, background, title, watermark, and logo options.
PrimeFlow export turns the current canvas into an image file you can share, archive, add to a presentation, or send to someone who does not need to edit the canvas.
Export is useful when you want to share a project map, mind map, workflow, relationship map, or planning canvas as a finished snapshot.
Export is available on Standard and Pro
The PrimeFlow feature matrix lists export to PNG, WebP, and JPEG for both Standard and Pro.
What you can do
Export the current PrimeFlow canvas
Choose PNG, WebP, or JPEG
Choose 1x, 2x, 3x, or 4x quality
Pick an export background
Add a title, author, and date
Choose a title style
Add a watermark
Add the PrimeTask logo or a custom logo
Preview the export before downloading
Use a filename without typing the file extension
Prepare the canvas before exporting
Apply Color Themes, adjust node placement, and save the canvas before opening export. Export creates a snapshot of how the canvas looks at that moment.
How to open export
- Main navigation: Open PrimeFlow.
- PrimeFlow header: Open the canvas menu, then choose Export to PNG.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows, search for PrimeFlow, then use Export to PNG from the PrimeFlow header.
The export option appears when the current canvas has nodes.
For the full header guide, see PrimeFlow Header and Controls.
Export formats
PrimeFlow supports three export formats.
| Format | Best for |
|---|---|
| PNG | Highest-quality screenshots, transparent exports, detailed canvas sharing |
| WebP | Smaller files when the recipient or destination supports WebP |
| JPEG | Small files for broad sharing when transparency is not needed |
The export filename adds the selected extension automatically.
JPEG does not keep transparency
Use PNG or WebP when you need a transparent export.
Export quality
PrimeFlow supports four quality choices.
| Quality | Best for |
|---|---|
| 1x | Standard sharing |
| 2x | High-quality screen sharing |
| 3x | Higher-resolution handoff or print-style use |
| 4x | Maximum-quality exports |
The export window shows the estimated export dimensions and estimated file size before you download.
Very large canvases can produce large exports
Higher quality settings increase file size. If export is slow, try a lower quality setting or reduce the canvas content you are exporting.
Background styles
Use Background Style to choose how the exported image sits behind your nodes.
Available background options include:
- Canvas Theme
- Pure White
- Pure Dark
- Transparent
- Aurora Dark
- Aurora Light
- Cyberpunk Neon
- Ocean Blue
- Sunset Gradient
- Cosmic Purple
- Mint Fresh
- Coral Reef
- Ocean Mist
- Aurora Borealis
- Sunset Glow
- Midnight
- Cosmic
- Forest
- Rose Petal
- Slate Storm
- Fire
Use Canvas Theme when you want the export to match the current app theme. Use Transparent when you want to place the exported canvas over another background later.
Title and metadata
Use Title & Metadata when the exported canvas needs context.
You can add:
- Canvas title
- Author
- Date
You can also choose between Top Bar and Card title styles. When using Card, you can place it at Top Left or Center.
Add metadata for shared strategy maps
A title and date make exported canvases easier to understand later, especially when a project changes over time.
Watermark
Turn on Include watermark when you want a short label added to the export.
The default watermark text is Created with PrimeTask, and you can replace it with your own text before exporting.
Logo options
Use Logo when you want a branded export.
Logo choices are:
- No Logo
- PrimeTask
- Custom
When a logo is enabled, you can choose its position, choose Small, Medium, or Large size, and invert it on dark backgrounds.
Custom logos are export-only
Adding a custom logo in the export window affects the exported image. It does not add a logo node to the canvas.
Live preview
The export window includes a live preview so you can check the final look before downloading. The preview updates when you change format-related options such as background, title, watermark, or logo.
Some embedded media may export as a preview image or simplified fallback depending on what can be captured at export time.

Things worth knowing
Export does not save the canvas
Export creates an image file. It does not replace Save or Save As.
For saving canvases, see PrimeFlow Canvas Library and Saving.
Export uses the current canvas appearance
Color Themes, node color overrides, group colors, connection settings, and visible node content are reflected in the export.
For theme details, see PrimeFlow Color Themes.
Export is a snapshot
The exported file does not update when tasks, projects, CRM records, notes, or connections change later.
Canvas controls are not the focus of the export
Export is designed to capture the canvas content, not the editing controls around it.
Common questions
"Is PrimeFlow export Pro-only?"
No. PrimeFlow export is available on every PrimeTask license.
"Can I export as WebP or JPEG even though the menu says Export to PNG?"
Yes. Open Export to PNG, then choose WebP or JPEG from Format before exporting.
"Which format should I use?"
Use PNG for best quality or transparency. Use WebP for a smaller file. Use JPEG when transparency is not needed and you want broad compatibility.
"Can I add a watermark?"
Yes. Turn on Include watermark and enter the text you want.
"Can I include the PrimeTask logo?"
Yes. Choose PrimeTask under Logo. You can also choose Custom to use your own logo for that export.
"Does export include Pro nodes?"
If the current canvas contains Pro nodes and those nodes are visible on the canvas, they are included in the exported image.
