PrimeFlow Right-Click Menus

Use PrimeFlow right-click menus to add nodes, adjust nodes, format sticky notes, change connections, and work faster on the canvas.

PrimeFlow uses more than one right-click menu. The menu you see depends on what you right-click: the canvas, a regular node, a mind map node, a sticky note, a connection, or a group.

This keeps each menu focused. A sticky note needs writing tools. A connection needs relationship and line settings. A blank canvas spot needs add actions.

Right-click menus are context-specific

PrimeFlow does not use one universal right-click menu. Options change based on the item you right-click and the PrimeTask tier you are using.

What you can do

Add nodes from the canvas right-click menu

Create a group on the canvas

Create a summary from multiple selected nodes

Duplicate or delete a node

Change a node color override

Add a checklist action to task nodes

Add or remove nodes from a FlowMode Journey while editing a Journey

Use mind map actions such as Add Child Node and Add Sibling Node

Edit, size, lock, format, and convert sticky notes

Change connection type, comment, color, thickness, relationship type, and flow movement

Open group color choices from a group

Right-click where you want to work

Right-clicking the canvas is best for adding new items. Right-clicking an existing item is best for changing that item.

How to open a right-click menu

1

Step 1

Open PrimeFlow.

2

Step 2

Open or create a canvas.

3

Step 3

Right-click one of these targets: - The canvas background - A node - A mind map node - A sticky note - A connection between nodes - A group

4

Step 4

Choose the action you need.

Press Escape or click outside the menu to close it.

For basic canvas movement and selection, see PrimeFlow Canvas Basics.

Canvas right-click menu

Right-click the canvas background to add content at that spot.

The canvas menu can include:

  • Summary when more than one node is selected
  • Group
  • Task
  • Project
  • Contact
  • Company
  • Activity
  • Sticky Note
  • Text
  • Emoji
  • Image
  • Link
  • File
  • Portal
  • Cross-Space
  • External App

Some add actions require Pro

Advanced CRM nodes, File nodes, Portal nodes, Cross-Space Portals, and External App nodes are part of Pro. Standard still includes the core canvas menu and Standard node types.

Summary

Use Summary when you have selected more than one node and want PrimeFlow to create a summary node for that selected set.

The Summary action appears only when it can be used.

Multi-node Summary

Select multiple nodes, such as by holding Shift while selecting nodes, then right-click the canvas background and choose Summary.

PrimeFlow creates an amber sticky-note-style Summary node near the selected nodes and connects each selected node to that Summary.

Use this when several nodes need one shared conclusion, recap, decision, follow-up note, or review point.

Summary uses a sticky-note-style node

Multi-node Summary creates a Summary note connected to the selected nodes. It is not the same as converting a mind map topic into a task.

Group

Use Group to create a new group at the right-click position. Drag nodes into the group after creating it.

Groups are useful when a canvas contains multiple projects, phases, client areas, research clusters, or workflow sections.

For the full group guide, see PrimeFlow Groups.

Add node actions

Use the canvas menu when you already know where the new node should go.

Some actions create the node immediately, such as Sticky Note, Text, and Emoji. Other actions open a picker or setup step, such as Task, Project, Contact, Company, Image, Link, File, Portal, Cross-Space, and External App.

For the full node-adding guide, see Adding Nodes in PrimeFlow.

Regular node right-click menu

Right-click a regular node to work with that node.

The regular node menu can include:

  • Duplicate
  • Checklist for task nodes linked to an existing task
  • Add to Journey or Remove from Journey when editing a FlowMode Journey
  • Color
  • Delete

Options depend on the node and current mode

A task node can show Checklist. A node can show Add to Journey or Remove from Journey only while a FlowMode Journey is being edited.

Duplicate

Use Duplicate to create another copy of the node on the canvas.

Checklist

Use Checklist on task nodes when you want to open the task checklist directly from the canvas.

For task actions after selecting a task node, see PrimeFlow Action Toolbar. For full task node behavior, see PrimeFlow Task Nodes.

Add to Journey and Remove from Journey

When you are editing a FlowMode Journey, the node menu can add the selected node to that Journey or remove it from the Journey.

FlowMode is part of Pro. For the full FlowMode guide, see PrimeFlow FlowMode.

Color

Use Color to override the node's current theme color.

Available regular node choices are:

  • Default (Theme)
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Indigo

Use Default (Theme) when you want the node to follow the current PrimeFlow Color Theme again.

For theme behavior, see PrimeFlow Color Themes.

Delete

Use Delete to remove the node from the canvas.

Delete removes the selected canvas item

Check that you are using the menu for the right item before deleting, especially on dense canvases.

Mind map node right-click menu

Mind map nodes have their own right-click menu because mind maps need structure-building actions.

The mind map node menu can include:

  • Add Child Node
  • Add Sibling Node
  • Edit Node
  • Duplicate Node
  • Summary
  • Convert to Task
  • Remove Task Link
  • Mark Todo
  • Mark In Progress
  • Mark Done
  • Color
  • Delete Node

Use Add Child Node when the new idea belongs under the current node. Use Add Sibling Node when the new idea belongs beside the current node at the same level. These also work from the keyboard: with a mind map topic selected, press Tab for a child or Return (Enter on Windows) for a sibling. See Mind Map Nodes.

Use Convert to Task when a mind map idea should become actionable work. When a mind map node is already linked to a task, the menu can show Remove Task Link and task status actions instead.

For full mind map behavior, see PrimeFlow Mind Map Nodes.

Sticky note right-click menu

Sticky notes have a dedicated right-click menu for note writing and formatting.

The sticky note menu can include:

  • Edit Note
  • Add Title
  • Edit Title
  • Lock Note
  • Unlock Note
  • Duplicate
  • Color
  • Size
  • Text Formatting
  • Convert to Task
  • Delete Note

Use sticky notes for rough thinking

Sticky notes are useful for ideas, reminders, meeting fragments, and temporary planning notes. Convert one to a task when it becomes something you need to track.

Sticky note colors

Sticky note color choices are:

  • Yellow
  • Pink
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Purple
  • Orange
  • Light Glass
  • Dark Glass

Sticky note sizes

Sticky note size choices are:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • Extra Large

Sticky note formatting

Sticky note text formatting includes:

  • Bold
  • Italic
  • Underline
  • Bullet List

Use Lock Note when you want to avoid accidental edits while arranging other canvas content.

For sticky notes, text stickers, emoji stickers, and documentation nodes, see PrimeFlow Notes and Stickers Nodes.

Connection right-click menu

Right-click a connection between nodes to change how that connection behaves.

The connection menu can include:

  • Connection Type
  • Add Comment
  • Edit Comment
  • Color
  • Thickness
  • Relationship Type
  • Animate Flow
  • Stop Animation
  • Delete Connection

Connection Type

Connection Type choices are:

  • Smooth Step
  • Straight
  • Step
  • Bezier

Use these choices to change how the connection runs between two nodes.

Comment

Use Add Comment or Edit Comment to explain why two nodes are connected.

This is useful for project dependencies, CRM relationships, handoff notes, research references, or decision history.

Connection color and thickness

Connection color choices are:

  • Gray
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Red
  • Purple
  • Orange

Thickness choices are:

  • Thin
  • Normal
  • Thick
  • Extra Thick

Relationship Type

Relationship Type appears for company relationship connections that support relationship labels.

Available relationship choices are:

  • Competitor
  • Partner
  • Supplier
  • Customer
  • Subsidiary
  • Parent
  • Same Industry
  • Other

Advanced CRM nodes are part of Pro. For CRM node behavior, see PrimeFlow CRM Nodes.

Animate Flow

Use Animate Flow when you want a connection to show movement. Use Stop Animation to turn that movement off.

For the full connection guide, see PrimeFlow Connections and Edges.

Group right-click menu

Groups use a simpler right-click behavior than regular nodes.

Right-click a group to open its group color choices. Group choices are:

  • Gray
  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Cyan
  • Blue
  • Purple
  • Pink

Group colors are separate from regular node color overrides and PrimeFlow Color Themes.

For group naming, resizing, and organization, see PrimeFlow Groups.

Standard and Pro behavior

Right-click menus are available in Standard and Pro.

Some menu actions open Pro node types or Pro workflows:

  • Contact, Company, and Activity use advanced CRM nodes.
  • File uses advanced file nodes.
  • Portal and Cross-Space use portal nodes.
  • External App uses the External App node.
  • Add to Journey and Remove from Journey use FlowMode.

For the full tier map, see PrimeFlow Standard vs Pro.

The menu follows available features

If an action belongs to a Pro node family or Pro workflow, that action requires Pro. Standard actions remain available for Standard canvas content.

Things worth knowing

The right-click target matters

If the menu does not show the action you expected, right-click the specific item you want to change. For example, connection settings appear from the connection menu, not from the node menu.

Node colors and connection colors are separate

A node color override changes the node. A connection color changes the line between nodes. A group color changes the group boundary.

Default returns a node to the current theme

For regular node colors, Default (Theme) removes the override and lets the node follow the active PrimeFlow Color Theme.

Some actions depend on selection

Summary appears from the canvas menu when multiple nodes are selected.

Some actions depend on the current workflow

Add to Journey and Remove from Journey appear while editing a FlowMode Journey.

Common questions

"Why do I see different right-click options in different places?"

PrimeFlow uses context-specific menus. The canvas, nodes, sticky notes, mind map nodes, connections, and groups each have different actions.

"Can I add nodes by right-clicking?"

Yes. Right-click the canvas background and choose the node type you want to add.

"Can I change one node without changing the whole theme?"

Yes. Right-click a regular node and use Color. Choose Default (Theme) later if you want that node to follow the current theme again.

"Why does a sticky note have more text options than other nodes?"

Sticky notes are designed for editable note content, so their menu includes title, size, lock, formatting, and convert-to-task actions.

"Can I change a company relationship from a connection?"

Yes, when the connection supports company relationship labels. Right-click the connection and use Relationship Type.
