PrimeFlow Settings
Use PrimeFlow Settings to adjust canvas behavior, snapping, the Mini Map, and auto-save for the active Space.
PrimeFlow Settings control how canvases behave while you build and maintain visual workflows. Use them when you want more guidance while placing nodes, want a compact map of the current canvas, or want to adjust how PrimeFlow saves changes while you work.
Settings apply to PrimeFlow in the active Space. They do not change task, project, CRM, or file data outside the canvas.
Settings apply to the active Space
If you switch Spaces, open PrimeFlow Settings again to review that Space's canvas preferences.
What you can do

while arranging nodes
Snap nodes into regular placement steps
when moving them
Adjust the placement step size
used by snap behavior
Show or hide the Mini Map
Show or hide tracked time badges
on tasks and groups
Turn auto-save on or off
Choose the auto-save interval
Reset PrimeFlow Settings to defaults
Save or cancel setting changes
Start with defaults
The default settings are a good starting point for most canvases. Change them when your canvas becomes large, precise placement matters, or you prefer saving manually.
How to open PrimeFlow Settings
- Main navigation: Open PrimeFlow.
- PrimeFlow header: Open the canvas actions menu, then choose Canvas Settings.
- Command palette: Press ⌘+K on macOS or Ctrl+K on Windows, search for PrimeFlow, then open Canvas Settings from the PrimeFlow header.
See PrimeFlow Header and Controls for the full header guide.
Settings
Show Grid
Use Show Grid when you want a placement guide while arranging nodes. Turning it off gives the canvas a cleaner working view.
This setting changes the guide only. It does not move existing nodes.
Snap to Grid
Use Snap to Grid when you want moved nodes to land on regular placement steps. This is useful when you are building structured maps, project relationship diagrams, or canvases that need consistent spacing.
Turn it off when you want free placement.
Snap affects movement, not content
Snap to Grid changes how nodes land when you move them. It does not change task details, project details, notes, files, or connections.
Grid Size
Use Grid Size to adjust the spacing used by Show Grid and Snap to Grid. Smaller spacing gives you finer placement. Larger spacing makes it easier to keep items separated.
Show Mini Map
Use Show Mini Map to keep a small overview of a large canvas available while you work. This helps when a canvas contains many nodes spread across a wide area.
Turn it off when you want fewer on-screen helpers while working.
Show Time Badges
Use Show Time Badges to show a small tracked-time chip on tasks and groups that have time recorded against them. Turn it off to keep the canvas minimal.
When this setting is on, every task with tracked time displays its total on the canvas, and every group displays the combined total of the tasks inside it. Hover any badge to open a detailed breakdown of recent activity.
This setting applies to the active canvas. For the full guide, see Tracked Time in PrimeFlow.
, Default is on
New canvases start with Show Time Badges turned on so tracked work shows up automatically. Turn it off when you want a quieter view.
Enable Auto-Save
Use Enable Auto-Save when you want PrimeFlow to save canvas changes automatically as you work.
Turn it off when you prefer to save manually from the PrimeFlow header.
Manual saving becomes more important when auto-save is off
If you turn off auto-save, use Save from the PrimeFlow header before switching canvases or leaving PrimeFlow.
Save Interval
Use Save Interval to choose how often PrimeFlow should save automatically when auto-save is on.
Shorter intervals save more frequently. Longer intervals reduce how often PrimeFlow saves while you are actively editing.
Reset to Defaults
Use Reset to Defaults to return PrimeFlow Settings to their standard values. This is useful if the canvas starts behaving differently than expected and you want to go back to the normal setup.
After resetting, choose Save to keep the reset settings.
Reset is not saved until you save settings
If you reset settings and then cancel, PrimeFlow keeps your previous settings.
Saving settings
Choose Save to apply your changes. Choose Cancel to close settings without applying changes.
Saved settings affect PrimeFlow behavior going forward in the active Space. Existing nodes, connections, canvas names, and saved canvases are not deleted by changing these settings.
Things worth knowing
Settings are not node filters
PrimeFlow Settings change canvas behavior. They do not search, filter, hide, or change specific node types.
For filtering, see PrimeFlow Search and Filters.
Settings are separate from theme presets
PrimeFlow Settings control behavior such as snapping and saving. Theme presets change the appearance of supported canvas elements.
For theme presets, see PrimeFlow Color Themes.
Settings are separate from export options
Export options are chosen when you export a canvas. PrimeFlow Settings do not decide the export format or quality.
For export, see PrimeFlow Export.
Common questions
"Why are nodes landing in set positions when I move them?"
Snap to Grid is probably on. Open Canvas Settings and turn it off if you want free placement.
"Why did the Mini Map disappear?"
Open Canvas Settings and check Show Mini Map.
"Does turning off Show Grid affect Snap to Grid?"
No. Show Grid controls the placement guide. Snap to Grid controls whether moved nodes land on regular placement steps.
"Does changing settings affect all saved canvases?"
Settings apply to PrimeFlow behavior in the active Space. Saved canvases keep their own nodes, connections, names, and content.
"Are these settings Pro-only?"
No. PrimeFlow Settings are available on every PrimeTask license.
